Andrea has an undergraduate degree from Trent University, majoring in Sociology and Psychology. She also obtained a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Toronto in 2001, as well as having completed numerous post-graduate certifications over the last twenty years, specializing in the area of Child Behaviour/Family systems, Trauma and Attachment, and Emotion-focused Family and Couples Counselling.
She is an expert in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and she utilizes somatic treatments as well to support clients who have experienced trauma. Andrea is trained as an EMDR therapist (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), and utilizes this modality with clients on a case by case basis. As well as being a highly skilled therapist, Andrea has also offered her services in Clinical Supervision for the last decade, using a non-judgemental, supportive approach rooted in attachment-oriented trauma work. Supervisees can expect to explore the link between theory and practice, as well as examine use of self, and how their own experiences and emotional lens shapes their work.
Jeff has an undergraduate degree and a teaching degree from Trent University. He obtained a Master’s in Divinity, emphasis in Clinical Counselling from Tyndale University. His approach to his work with clients is empathetic and results oriented. Jeff has extensive experience working with youth and families, as well as individuals facing Anxiety or depression. Jeff’s relationship coaching for youth is strength-based and non-judgmental. He supports families in their communication, conflict resolution, and relational challenges.
As counsellor, Jeff brings a unique and intentional approach to his work with people. He brings a compassionate and gentle approach to his work with our clients who are grieving. Being present with those who are grieving is very important to Jeff’s focus as he supports family members of any age as they navigate this very difficult process.
Paul is a retired high school teacher who took on the role of assisting with billing and bookkeeping when AG & Associates required extra administrative support. Paul has a keen attention to detail and brings his lifelong gift of helping others to this organization.
Ilysha is the administrative assistant at AG Counselling and Consulting, assisting with marketing, planning and day to day tasks. She previously worked as a DSW with deaf individuals and plans to continue growing her vocabulary in ASL. Ilysha currently attends Trent University in the Bachelor of Social Work program with aspirations to work in rehabilitation counselling for youth.
